Westland Flagship Single Malt Whisky 700ml
Description
Westland’s Flagship American Single Malt represents the Seattle distillery’s core expression and philosophy—that American single malt can stand proudly alongside Scottish tradition while expressing uniquely American character. This whiskey showcases Pacific Northwest terroir through locally sourced barley and the region’s distinct climate influence. The result challenges preconceptions about American whiskey while establishing new traditions.Deep amber color reflects thoughtful maturation in various oak types. The nose immediately distinguishes American from Scottish single malt—bold grain character mingles with vanilla and caramel from new oak, while subtle smoke and chocolate notes add complexity. The Pacific Northwest influence shows in subtle maritime notes and the particular sweetness from Washington-grown barley. Coffee, dark fruit, and baking spices create layers that reward patient exploration. On the palate, Westland Flagship delivers the promise of American single malt innovation. Initial sweetness from new oak gives way to complex grain flavors enhanced by careful fermentation. The combination of different barley varieties creates depth impossible with single grain bills. Mid-palate brings notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and stone fruits, while subtle peat smoke adds intrigue without dominating. The texture is rich and coating, speaking to quality distillation. The finish is long and evolving, with grain, oak, and subtle smoke creating extended complexity. This flagship expression serves as both introduction to Westland’s style and statement of American single malt potential. The 700ml international format acknowledges global interest in American whiskey innovation. Westland Flagship proves that single malt excellence isn’t limited by geography, establishing American traditions worthy of international recognition.
