Sextant Wheelhouse Zinfandel 2022 is a bold Paso Robles red with ripe fruit, smooth oak, and classic Zin spice. Made from hand-picked fruit from Sextant’s RBZ Vineyard, it shows the warm, generous side of Paso Robles while keeping a fresh cranberry lift.The wine ferments on its skins for several weeks, then Sextant lightly presses it. After that, the free-run juice ages for 18 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak. In addition, a small splash of Petite Sirah and Syrah adds structure, color, and depth. At 14.7% ABV, it carries real body without losing balance.The nose opens with blackberry, black cherry, raspberry preserves, and ripe plum. Then cracked pepper, baking spice, vanilla, and toasted oak add warmth. On the palate, brambly fruit leads with a plush, juicy feel.
