Old Elk Wheated Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
Description
Old Elk Wheated Bourbon applies their innovative high-malt philosophy to a wheated mash bill, creating what might be the smoothest bourbon in their lineup. By combining wheat’s natural softness with their signature malt content, Old Elk has created a bourbon of exceptional smoothness and approachability. This expression showcases how thoughtful grain selection can create unique whiskey personalities.
The nose is remarkably soft and inviting – the combination of wheat and malt creates creamy aromas of vanilla custard, caramel, and fresh-baked bread. There’s an almost pastry-like quality with notes of honey, light fruit, and the gentlest hint of spice. The dual smoothing grains create exceptional approachability. On the palate, this wheated expression delivers silk-like smoothness: the wheat and malt combination creates texture like liquid velvet, carrying flavors of butterscotch, pear, vanilla cream, subtle cinnamon, and perfectly integrated light oak.
The innovative grain bill succeeds in creating exceptional smoothness. The finish is gentle and pleasant, with the wheat and malt creating a soft landing that makes this dangerously drinkable. This is perfect bourbon for those who prioritize smoothness, for introducing newcomers to premium bourbon, or for occasions when you want elegance over intensity. Whether sipped neat to appreciate its remarkable texture, or used in cocktails where ultimate smoothness is desired, Old Elk Wheated represents the pinnacle of smooth bourbon innovation.
