Old Elk Cognac Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
Description
Old Elk Cognac Cask Finish brings French luxury to Colorado bourbon, finishing their smooth high-malt bourbon in casks that previously held premium Cognac. This marriage of American innovation and French tradition creates a bourbon with sophisticated complexity that appeals to lovers of both spirits. The Cognac influence adds elegance and refinement to Old Elk’s already smooth character. The nose shows beautiful integration of bourbon and Cognac influences – Old Elk’s malty smoothness is enhanced by elegant notes of grape, floral elements, and subtle oak from the Cognac casks. There’s a perfumed quality with hints of orange blossom, vanilla, and delicate spices that create sophisticated appeal. On the palate, this finished bourbon delivers refined complexity: the Cognac casks contribute flavors of candied fruit, honey, gentle florals, and elegant oak tannins that complement rather than dominate the smooth bourbon base, creating layers of flavor that evolve with each sip.The Cognac finishing adds remarkable sophistication. The finish is exceptionally smooth and long, with the French influence creating an almost silky quality that extends the experience. This is bourbon for special occasions or when you want to impress spirits connoisseurs. Whether savored neat in a snifter as you would fine Cognac, or used in elevated cocktails, Old Elk Cognac Cask Finish represents successful fusion of traditions, proving that bourbon can achieve Cognac-like elegance.
