Old Elk Blended Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
Description
Old Elk Blended Bourbon showcases master distiller Greg Metze’s innovative approach, using an unusually high malt content in the mash bill to create exceptional smoothness and complexity. This blend combines their unique bourbon with other selected whiskeys to create a profile that stands apart from traditional bourbon while maintaining broad appeal. The result redefines what blended bourbon can achieve. The nose offers immediate distinction – the high malt content creates smooth, almost creamy aromas of vanilla and caramel, enhanced by notes of maple syrup, toasted grain, and subtle fruit. There’s a richness here that sets it apart from typical bourbon, with hints of chocolate and gentle spice adding interest. On the palate, Old Elk Blended delivers remarkable smoothness: the malt creates a silky texture that carries flavors of butterscotch, honey, light cinnamon, cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak, with the blending adding layers that single bourbon cannot achieve. The innovative approach succeeds in creating something genuinely different. The finish is smooth and lingering, with the malt influence creating a gentle fade that invites another sip. This is perfect bourbon for those seeking smoothness without sacrificing complexity. Whether enjoyed neat to appreciate the unique mash bill influence, in cocktails where its smoothness can shine, or introduced to bourbon newcomers, Old Elk Blended represents thoughtful innovation in bourbon making.
