Nonino Vendemmia Grappa 750ml
Description
Nonino Vendemmia celebrates the harvest season with a special grappa that captures the essence of vintage time in liquid form. This limited expression uses pomace from exceptional harvest years, selected for quality and character that will translate through distillation. The concept of vintage grappa, pioneered by Nonino, acknowledges that like wine, the quality of the base material profoundly influences the final spirit. Each Vendemmia release offers a snapshot of a particular harvest, preserving its character through careful distillation.
The production of Vendemmia requires coordination between winemaking and distillation rarely seen in grappa production. Pomace from selected vineyards is earmarked during exceptional vintages, then distilled with extra care to preserve vintage character. The combination of different grape varieties from the same exceptional year creates complexity while maintaining vintage identity. The immediate distillation after pressing ensures maximum freshness, capturing not just grape character but the essence of the entire harvest season.
The resulting grappa showcases what makes each vintage special. The nose might present particularly intense fruit character from a warm year, or elegant floral notes from a cooler vintage. The blend of varieties creates complexity – perhaps Moscato’s aromatics dancing with Merlot’s fruit and Chardonnay’s elegance. On the palate, the vintage character continues to express itself through texture and flavor development. Some years might produce grappa with exceptional smoothness, others with more intense fruit or mineral character. Each Vendemmia tells its own story.
This special release appeals to collectors who appreciate the intersection of agriculture and spirits, showing how nature’s variations create unique expressions. Like vintage wine, each Vendemmia offers unrepeatable character that reflects its specific year. For grappa enthusiasts, comparing different vintages provides insights into how climate and timing influence spirits. The limited nature and vintage specificity make this a special occasion grappa, best shared with those who can appreciate the connection between harvest and bottle. It proves that grappa deserves the same vintage consideration as wine.
