La Toledana Gavi 2023 750ml
Description
The La Toledana Gavi 2023 is a bright and finely crafted white wine from the Gavi DOCG region of Piedmont, showcasing 100% Cortese grapes and expressing the elegant terroir of its hillside vineyards. In the glass it displays a pale straw-yellow color with soft green reflections, signaling its youthful vibrancy. On the nose, delicate white flowers and orchard fruits open first, followed by fresh citrus notes—lemon peel and grapefruit—as well as a hint of crushed stone and almond skin that speak to the vineyard’s limestone-rich soils. On the palate, the wine offers a crisp, medium-bodied structure with vibrant acidity and clean fruit. Flavors of green apple, pear, and lemon-lime combine with a subtle mineral thread and a light almond-like finish. The texture is smooth yet lively, and the wine’s balanced profile delivers elegance and freshness in equal measure. What distinguishes the La Toledana Gavi 2023 is its clear sense of place and precision. The estate’s vineyards benefit from excellent sun exposure and cooling breezes, ensuring ripe, expressive fruit. The winemaking emphasizes purity—fermentation in stainless steel and minimal oak influence—to preserve the brightness and varietal character of Cortese while allowing the terroir to shine.Serve this wine chilled at approximately 50–54 °F in a white wine glass to allow the aromatics to open fully. It pairs beautifully with light dishes such as oysters, herb-roasted sea bass, spring vegetable risottos, or fresh goat cheese with a drizzle of olive oil. It also works splendidly as a refined aperitif.Whether enjoyed tonight for its lively charm or cellared for a year or two to allow subtle mineral and almond notes to deepen, the La Toledana Gavi 2023 offers a refined and versatile tasting experience—bright, polished and deeply expressive of its Piedmontese roots.
