Gramercy Cellars Syrah Walla Walla Valley 2018 750ml
Description
Gramercy Cellars Syrah Walla Walla Valley 2018 is a refined red wine from one of Washington’s most respected Rhône-style producers. Made from Syrah with a small touch of Viognier, it blends fruit from Forgotten Hills, Les Collines, and Holy Roller vineyards. As a result, the wine shows both dark fruit power and savory Walla Walla depth. The nose opens with boysenberry, huckleberry, blackberry, and fresh mountain berries. Then notes of forest floor, spruce tips, nori, black pepper, and dark chocolate add complexity. The aromas feel vivid and earthy, while the saline edge gives the wine a clear sense of place. On the palate, blue and black fruit lead first. Meanwhile, whole-cluster fermentation brings spice, lift, and a subtle herbal tone. The tannins feel plush but controlled, and bright acidity keeps the wine fresh. Coffee bean, cocoa, pepper, and savory mineral notes build through the finish.Gramercy fermented this Syrah in concrete and small stainless steel tanks with 58% whole cluster. It then aged for 17 months in mainly neutral French oak puncheons and barrels. Therefore, the wine gains texture and depth without heavy oak flavor. At 13.0% ABV, it feels balanced, graceful, and food-friendly.Serve it with grilled lamb, steak, duck, roasted mushrooms, braised short ribs, or aged cheeses. For buyers seeking a serious Walla Walla Syrah with freshness, savory detail, and long finish, this 2018 is a standout choice.
