Escortauro Extra Anejo 5 Year Extra Anejo Tequila 750ml
Description
Escortauro 5 Year Extra Añejo represents the sweet spot of extended aging, where significant time in oak creates remarkable complexity while maintaining vibrant character. This expression showcases how five years can transform tequila into something special without losing its essential identity. It’s a study in the perfect balance between youth and maturity.
The deep amber color with copper highlights promises the complexity within. On the nose, five years of aging has created beautiful integration of flavors. Rich aromas of butterscotch and vanilla bean are complemented by leather, dark chocolate, and dried fruit. There’s still energy here—the spirit hasn’t been subdued by oak but rather enhanced. Notes of cinnamon, toasted pecan, and orange peel add layers while maintaining brightness.
The palate delivers exceptional smoothness with remarkable complexity for the age. Initial flavors of caramel and dark honey give way to more sophisticated notes—espresso, fig jam, and baking spices create depth without heaviness. The five-year mark seems to be where magic happens—old enough for serious complexity but young enough to maintain vibrancy. Mid-palate brings notes of toffee apple, mild tobacco, and subtle smoke. The finish is long and evolving, with perfect balance between sweet and spicy elements. This extra añejo proves that sometimes five years is exactly right.
