Chateau Croix Canon Saint Emilion 2016 750ml
Description
Château Croix Canon showcases Saint-Émilion’s Right Bank elegance, where clay-limestone soils and thoughtful winemaking create wines of both charm and structure. This 2016 captures the estate in one of the century’s finest vintages.
The wine opens with intense aromas of black cherry and cassis, showing the perfect ripeness achieved in 2016. As it develops, classic Saint-Émilion notes of violet, truffle, and subtle spice emerge, along with hints of tobacco and dark chocolate. The limestone influence provides a mineral backbone that adds complexity. On the palate, ripe tannins frame concentrated fruit flavors, while fresh acidity ensures the wine never feels heavy. The oak is perfectly integrated, adding structure without overwhelming the fruit.
This 2016 Croix Canon demonstrates why this vintage is already legendary on the Right Bank. The combination of perfect conditions and careful winemaking has created a wine of exceptional balance and potential. Now entering its drinking window but built for the long haul, this bottle offers both immediate pleasure and the promise of future complexity. For authentic Saint-Émilion from a great vintage, this delivers remarkable quality.
