The 1999 Vecina, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon offering, exhibits aromas of graphite, tar, coffee, and creme de cassis. It is more austere and less charming and seductive than the 1999 “S”. This powerful, muscular Cabernet will be at its best between 2006-2020.- Robert Parker Jr. (08/2002)

The 1999 Vecina is now fully mature. There is enough depth to support at least a few more years of drinking, but the 1999 is a wine whose time has come. Dried flowers, mint, sweet tobacco and licorice add complexity throughout, but the 1999 has begun to fray at the edges. Any remaining bottles are best finished off.- Antonio Galloni (11/217)
