1889 Geijer Glögglikör (pronounced yay-er gluhg) is a Swedish holiday liqueur that shares many similarities to mulled wine, but with an interesting twist. It uses many of the same botanicals as you’d find in a steaming cup of mulled wine, including cardamom, clove and cinnamon. However, instead of the usual red wine, 1889 Geijer Glögglikör is made by distilling and infusing the spices into neutral spirit. The result is a lighter, refined take on the traditional Christmas drink. Nose: Clove and cinnamon dominate the nose with cleansing cardamom.
Palate: Sweet but far from syrupy with cardamom leading well-integrated spicy palate with clove, cinnamon and orange zest adding zing.
