123 Repo Reposado Tequila 375ml
Description
Thoughtfully sized for exploration and perfectly portioned for intimate occasions, 123 Organic Reposado in its 375ml presentation offers an accessible entry point into the world of premium organic tequila. This “Repo” expression—as it’s affectionately known among enthusiasts—represents the sweet spot in the aging spectrum, where youthful vibrancy meets oak-induced sophistication.
David Ravandi’s vision for organic tequila shines through in this reposado, which rests for six months in French oak barrels. This relatively brief aging period is precisely calibrated to enhance rather than mask the organic agave’s natural character. The French oak, with its tighter grain structure than American varieties, imparts subtle vanilla and spice notes without the aggressive tannins that can overwhelm shorter-aged spirits.
The organic cultivation practices that define 123 Tequila become particularly apparent in this reposado expression. Without synthetic fertilizers forcing rapid growth, the agave plants develop more nuanced flavor compounds that survive distillation and benefit from oak interaction. The result is a reposado with remarkable clarity of flavor—each element distinct yet harmoniously integrated.
Golden amber in color with brilliant clarity, this reposado presents an inviting nose of cooked agave sweetened with vanilla and hints of cinnamon. The palate reveals layers of flavor: initial agave sweetness transitions to subtle oak, followed by notes of honey, light caramel, and a peppery finish that reminds you this is highland tequila at its core.
The 375ml format makes this reposado ideal for several scenarios. It’s perfect for gifting to curious friends who appreciate organic products but haven’t yet explored premium tequila. The size also allows home bartenders to experiment with elevated cocktails without committing to a full bottle—try it in a Reposado Sour with fresh lemon, agave nectar, and a float of organic red wine.
For sipping, serve slightly chilled or at room temperature in a rocks glass with a single large ice cube that slowly opens up the flavors. Pair with grilled vegetables drizzled with olive oil and sea salt, where the reposado’s subtle sweetness complements the charred, earthy flavors. This half-bottle format embodies 123’s philosophy perfectly—premium organic tequila should be accessible, enjoyable, and always authentic.
